American persimmons are one of the most attractive trees you can plant for wildlife. They are a native fruit tree found across the Eastern US and Midwest that bear a golf ball sized fleshy fruit that is highly sought after by many animals. Deer absolutely love persimmons and will usually visit trees every day while dropping to mop up what has fallen that day. These tangy fruits are like candy for deer and many other kinds of wildlife. They provide an excellent food source and a very high level of attraction to draw deer in from all around. Does well in many different soil types, well drained, wet soils, sandy, clay, marginal areas, etc. As a wild tree they are easy to grow and very disease and pest resistant.
You must protect your trees with one of our Tree Tubes to be covered under our Survival Guarantee. Please read the full details here
